Welcome! Bossier Parish is located in Northwest Louisiana along the Red River. The Bossier Parish Libraries History Center acquires and preserves items of lasting value concerning Bossier Parish history and culture. See our Acquisitions Policy for details on what we collect. We will happily accept donations of items that fall within the scope of our collections.

Please stop by for a visit - we are located within the Bossier Parish Libraries Central Complex at 7204 Hutchison Drive in Bossier City - or visit our blog online.

DATABASE AND COLLECTIONS

We invite you to search our index and collections database. If you need assistance from History Center staff, call (318)746-7717 or e-mail History Center manager, Marisa Richardson, mrichardson@bossierlibrary.org. Please see our Research Policy for an explanation of the assistance we are able to provide to both local and long-distance patrons.

To search our Bossier Banner Newspaper NAMES AND PLACES INDEX, please click here.

To search or browse our COLLECTIONS DATABASE for items such as objects, photographs, manuscripts and books, please click here.

We recommend 'keyword search' as the most comprehensive search. Use a word you think will appear in the records you are searching for. For example: 'steamboat' or 'Vance' (a last name) or 'Plain Dealing' (a town). If you just want to find records of photos, for example, type in your keyword and click on 'Photos' in the 'Record Types' field. You could also click 'Only records with images' under 'Search In' if you only want records with attached digital images.

If you are able to identify any additional dates, people or places in a photograph or have comments about any other object in the collection, please fill out the "Send Feedback" form at the top of its record.

Thank You!
