Provenance Original tag: "Name: Edith I got her Christmas either 1894 or 5, Ivy Heilman Harmon" Doll is marked A.S. 7, Julie Hoops, an antique doll dealer/collector & researcher in Shreveport researched this unusual doll for me. She was made by the Arthur Schoenaur Company, which existed between 1884 and 1894. After 1894 he became partners with Hoffmeister and the Company became Schoenaur & Hoffmeister (S * H ) (star has PB in the center). Dolls by this maker are not often seen. Mrs. Hoops stated that the doll could be correctly dressed as either a fashion lady or as a Bebe. The blue satin hood points to the latter. Mrs. Hoops also suggested re-dressing the doll in an historically accurate costume.
