Blackburn-At Large Buzz Wojecki- At Large John Mercer- District 1 Anthony Provenza- District 2 Wanda Bennett- District 3 Betty Miller- District 4 Al Maddox- District 5 Mr. Bill Fields Mr. Charles Carter Dear Mr. Bill Fields and Mr. Carter, Some very important things have happened in the last week that could be far reaching in their importance to you and to our city. We have moved from a time when misunderstanding was prevailing, to a harmonious understanding and dedication of efforts and goals. Contingent upon the passage of this one-half (1/2) cent sales tax, our city will be able to once and for all fund the pension plan and deficit which until this time has loomed over our city as a dark cloud growing into ta devastating storm that threatens our financial stability. We will also be able to implement the Mayor's pay plan of last October. With the help of other monies we will further adjust the pay schedule of the Police and Fire Departments. Our intention is to keep us as competitive as possible with Shreveport since we must compete with them for personnel, especially in these two departments. I urge all of you to join with the Administration and City Council in conveying to our citizens the message that "success of the election" in July in imperative to the future of your city.
