Letter written to Bobby and Janice from Buzz Wojecki discussing the changes of the retirement plan. Sept. 29, 1988 Dear Bobby and Janice, Here is the final revision of the "Bobby Gauthier" retirement bill. The Senate Legislature Coordinator (Scott Cannon) said it would be introduced on Sunday as the first session. The copy shows November 1 as the effective date. I had this changed to October 1, so that if necessary you could elect to retire before the November date and qualify Janice for the improved benefit. There is a possibility that this will generate a little extra income over what was projected. I'll discuss that with you personally. The increase if any, won't be much, but everything counts. Once the Governor signs this bill, (The Council) will note final approval at one of our meetings in October (probably the last one) you will then be in the position to take your retirement as planned in November with the improved surviving benefit for Janice and the kids. I'm pleased we were able to do this. This will help your family receive what is fairly due them, and it will make this available to every officer who comes afterwards. I'll see you Monday.
