1921 Letter To Jim Edwards Jr |
Scope & Content |
Envelope: To: Master Jim Edwards Jr. Benton, Louisiana Post marked: Dec 27 1921 Stamp: 2 cent Letter: My dear little old boy: The only thing I do not like about you and your mother and your father is that you are moving away too far to be in our school but I'll always be your first teacher and when you get to be a man and I am listening to some of your speeches or hear of some great achievement I'll put my glasses on (you know I'll be an old woman then) and I'll say "I was his very first teacher in school and I am not surprised for he was a fine little fellow". Now I didn't start to tell you how much we hate for your to leave and how we shall miss you but to tell you that I appreciate that nice box of stationary and want to thank you for it. No one expect people named "Jim" shall ever get a letter written on it so you may just look for some letters when you get to Haughton. Some Friday afternoon Ford, Robert and I shall have Eulalia take us to Bossier City and we will get on V.S & P No. 10 and get off at Haughton. Watch and see if we do not. Give my love to "Mother" best wishes to "Papa" and I want you to know I love you and shall always be deeply interested in you. Sincerely, Bessie B. Crawford |
