Edge Poetry- Mrs. Nell Collins Parliamentarian- Mrs. Frank J. Rodie Important Calendar Dates: February 10, 1979-- Louisiana Division Board--Baton Rouge, LA. February 17, 1979-- District I Spring Board--Mansfield Museum May 2-4, 1979--Louisiana Division Convention, Shreveport, LA. Goals For The Year From President General and Louisiana Division President: I. Five (5) new members, per Chapter, for the year. II. One hundred percent (100%) UDC Magazine subscription, for new members for each Chapter. Important Directives From Division Officers To Chapter Officers: From-- Louisiana Division President-- Mrs. George Weimer, Jr. Send checks from Chapters, for Pledges for the Randolph Relief Fund and the Longmire Fund, IMMEDIATELY, to the Louisiana Division Treasurer. Few have been received, and these funds must be sent, to continue to support these projects, so worthy. Louisiana Division 2nd Vice President-- Mrs. Lawrence Fannaly I. A scholarship is available from Division to eligible students from District 1, starting at mid-term ($350.00.) II. A scholarship is available from District I, for eligible students ($100.00) (Belle G. Williams Scholarship) Louisiana Division Treasurer -- Mrs. Julia K. Dalton I. Please list chapter membership, alphabetically, on PER CAPITA sheets only--send with per capita check. II. Please note by members name, if there is a change of address or marital status. III. Fiscal year for per capita-- September 1 through August 31. of following year. Per Capita lists and checks should be sent to Division Treasurer by November 1st. IV. Late PER CAPITA payment shall be listed on a per capita sheet, even if only one name. V. Chapters with Associate members shall send check for fee of $1.00 per member-- DO NOT list on regular per capita sheet with membership--list on extra sheet of paper. VI. Fee for Supplemental lines has been raised to $3.00 VII. Children of the Confederacy per captia has been raised to $1.00 Announcements: I. The Louisiana Division Executive Board voted approval, to Return the Natchitoches Chapter to District I, as requested in their Resolution. Official Vote shall be taken at the Division Convention. II. Division President Minute Book (Yearbook). NO MORE AVAILABLE FOR THIS YEAR. ONLY Division Officers and Chapter Presidents receive them free. All others must purchase them for $3.00--therefore, Please Order before the deadline date, when you are notified of orders being taken for 1979-80 Minute Books. III. Please support the Petition for restoring "Confederate", to the name of the LSU Medical Center Hospital in Shreveport. District I Agenda: I. Call to order II. District Chairman has extra copies of the following: 1. Per Capita Blanks 2. Military Cross of Honor Application Blanks 3. Grave Marker Applications B. Concern over the Disney TV Movie "Million Dollar Dixie Deliverance", bad image portrayal of Confederacy. Have a few copies of Disney Sponsors, to write. C. Mrs. O'Neal, Ex. Div. Pres. obtained a list of the Louisiana Soldiers, buried at Rock Island, ILL. - with death date. Only Have List For Viewing. Please do not take it. We do also have a personal friend, who lives near the old Prison, and is a local Historian there, who has offered help, to anyone, who may have had ancestors held there. Contact me later, for help in this area. D. Again we urge you to subscribe to the UDC Magazine and also to send Publicity from your Chapter to Mrs. Littleton, Div. Chairman. The magazine also has a list 2-4 times a year, of supplies and prices, needed to function. E. We also urge you, as Chapter of individual, to support the UDC Memorial Building and Endowment Funds, this also is a nice way to memorialize a deceased Chapter member. XV. Other Business XVI.
