"Uncle Sam and Aunt Cassie with their adopted children." Bossier adoption records reveal that Sam and Cassandra Ealy [or Eley] adopted a child named Lee on December 11, 1905. The child's mother was Eliza Porter, who was described as a "femme sole."Cassandra Ealy is buried in the Bellevue Cemetery. Sam's last known residence was Texarkana.
