This picture is of Manry Carter. 1900s-1910s. This is one of the only known photographs of a man formerly enslaved in Bossier Parish. Mr. Carter was brought to Bossier by Captain William Josiah Hughes from South Carolina. He was just over 4 feet tall and lived near the village of Benton. He died in 1915. |
