Description |
The Robert L. Wyche, Sr. home, occupied by Wyche family from 1922 to 1947. At that time they moved into another house (see #63) . This house was built by John Belcher and then occupied in the following order: Tom Land, Dr. Laster, Mr. Fortson, and then the Wyches. Bob Lyles sold it to a Mr. Henry, who was stationed at Barksdale. Henry lost the house to the Bank of Benton, which tore down the old house and sold the lots. One lot went to Ford Stinson, who built an office, one to RH Lee for his home. Other lots were also sold. When Bob Lyles sold the Wyche house, the Henrys showed up sooner than expected. So, much to Eugenia's [Eugenia Wyche, daughter of Robert L Wyche] dismay, Bob Lyles got a wagon and moved the Wyches into their new home. |
