Description |
Painting of "Di's House" at Bear Point Plantation in silver-colored wooden frame. Cynthia Redick Walker, called "Di" was the donor's nurse and Gatlin family cook. Painted by Betty Lewis after the description given by the donor. Painting shows an African-American woman washing clothes in front of her house. For more information, read Mrs. McLelland's memoirs, 1997.076.005, which includes a pencil sketch by Robert Miller of this painting. |
